Colorado Daisies in the Sky by Lizzy Summers
My mother adored daisies,
As for me, daisies hardly registered. My preferences leaned towards dahlias, lilies, tulips, and zinnias. Though, I did have a cat named Daisy at one point and she was a delight but that’s beside the point.
I’m drawn to vibrant colors, colorful blooms,
I mean vivid, bright, colorful blooms swaying in the breeze – that’s what ignites my visual senses.
Yet, one serene morning, my affection for color took an unexpected turn. I awoke to the delicate beauty of white and the sheer loveliness of the simple white daisy. This particular encounter with daisies, glistening with morning dew, left an indelible mark on me and altered my artistic path forever.
I was spending a week with a coaching client, assisting the family in adopting a nourishing meal plan and detox lifestyle to alleviate the wife’s dementia symptoms.
They graciously invited me to reside in their home, offering me the expansive downstairs guest quarters – a spacious 3-bedroom suite with a living area and kitchenette.
My clients resided upstairs. Almost every room boasted picture windows, offering sweeping vistas of the San Juan Mountains in Colorado.
By the time I arrived, darkness had descended. Yet, even without the sight of the spectacular mountains and pastures, the sky was a sight to behold. The deep, rich blue served as a canvas for the Milky Way, a tapestry of sparkling diamonds. The city I hail from pales in comparison to the nighttime spectacle of the Colorado mountain sky.
Fatigue weighed heavily upon me, and I eagerly anticipated a restful night’s sleep.
Upon waking, I was overcome with excitement to witness the view and hastily rose from bed to draw open the blinds. What greeted me was even more breathtaking:
Surrounded by pastures where cattle grazed on one side and horses roamed on the other, with distant Elk and the tranquil murmur of a nearby river, I felt as though I had stepped into paradise.
Fields of daisies stretched before me, bathed in the soft morning light.
Rolling hills adorned with white blooms danced and glistened in the early morning dew.
It was a sight that stole my breath, heralding a new day and a fresh beginning.
Inspired by this enchanting moment, I eagerly anticipated incorporating daisies into my art and designs.
Now, the enchantment of daisies in the early morning light can accompany you throughout the day with my home decor and accessories, inspired by that remarkable first morning in beautiful Colorado.
Warm regards,
