New Inspiration in the Blue Ridge Mountains

As many of you know, we have a special campsite in Colorado that we love visiting as often as we can between May and October. But this past summer took a different turn. When we headed up in July—just after Stephen’s heart event—the altitude proved too much for him. We tried again in September, but it still wasn’t right for his heart.

So, being the artist that I am, I still needed to fill my creative well with beauty to last through the winter.

With our “new-to-us” Airstream in tow, I decided to make the most of the season by heading to South Carolina to visit my dad, siblings, and other family members—and to explore the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Stephen
being the “ham” he is, is introducing our
Airstream!

We love it and even with the steep learning curve, we are so happy to have her in our lives.

If I’m unable to make it back to the Rockies for a few years while Stephen’s heart continues to strengthen, I thought perhaps I could find new inspiration in the Blue Ridge, where the altitude is gentler.

And I did. South Carolina, especially near the North Carolina border, was every bit as lovely and inspiring as I hoped.

As I was looking through some of the footage I captured, I thought it might bring you a bit of that same inspiration, too.

I was super grateful to find a place that inspired me as much as the Colorado Mountains

This season reminded me that creativity always finds a way—no matter where life leads us.

Even though I wasn’t able to go to my happy place in Colorado, I’m so grateful I was gifted with the beautiful inspiration of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
